Application

Eligibility of the applicants

  • Holder of university degree (or equivalent experience)
  • EU national
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Good background knowledge of EU history, institutions, policies and current debates
  • An interest and engagement of European policy issues (e.g. membership in NGO, think-tank, civil society movement, political party, academic institute)
  • Views in accordance with the EVN Mission Statement

Additional conditions

The number of EVN participants is limited to 40. You can only apply for the whole programme, consisting of the Brussels meeting, e-communication and Prague conference. It is not possible to participate only part of the programme. Participants are expected to take part in all phases fully and actively.

The application process consists of following steps:

  • Choose one of the policy issues
  • Answer following questions (each answer 1000 characters maximum)

    • Why did you chose this topic?
    • What would your second choice be?
    • Why do you want to participate in EVN 2010?
    • What do you think the biggest challenge for Europe in 2020 will be?
  • Attach structured CV (max. 2 pages)

When we have received all of your application materials your application will be reviewed by the Executive Board and EVN Organizational Committee. Decisions regarding admission will be made by 20 December 2009. All applicants will be notified of the result via e-mail, on the address provided in the registration form.

Participation fee

The fee contributes to costs arising from participation in the whole programme (including Brussels meeting, e-communication period and Prague conference). Accommodation, the majority of the  meals and other services are provided.

  • The participation fee is €120

Travel expenses to Brussels and Prague will be reimbursed up to €80 for each return trip. It is advised to book travel tickets well in advance!

Students may apply for reduced fee. Reasoned request has to be sent to the Programme Coordinator by the end of the application period. Decision about the scholarship award will be sent together with the Admission announcement.
